One bleary eyed evening earlier this (nearly finished) holiday season, I stayed up late and cranked out a series of homemade polishes well into the wee hours of the morning. I gave a few away as gifts (the shock value in telling someone you made them a custom nail polish is worth the effort alone) and kept a few others in the name of quality control. That and greed; I just didn’t want to give them away! 😉 All the nail polishes will be mine!
Here I’ve shown two coats of a polish I call Fuzzy Slippers, a periwinkle jelly studded with purple, pink and silver holographic glitter, alongside a wee little mouse, because why not? I layered Fuzzy Slippers over top of Essence’s Grey-t To Be Here, the pale grey shot through with rose sparkles you see on my ring finger, but it was quite unnecessary – Fuzzy Slippers is blissfully opaque in two coats. 🙂
This is awesome! Where did you get your supplies to make the polishes?
Thanks! It’s insanely fun to make your own creations or dupes of others you can’t find. I got the glitter (make sure it’s the solvent resistant variety) and cosmetic dye from sellers on Etsy, and then I got the base for the polish, as well as bottles and some other assorted items, from Voyageur Soap and Candle, a Canadian company out of BC. Knock on wood, but so far, so good – I’m pretty impressed.
Awesome – I’ll have to try this out!
Nicely done! And the little mousey is super cute!
Thank you! I’m debating whether to give it to a friend…or just hoard it all for myself!
Give it away?! Well, maybe as a birthday present. If you ever get tired of it. But generally… I support being a polish hoarder! 🙂
