The colour palette I used in this every-nail-for-itself manicure – grape purple, dark turquoise, nude, gold and black – is a rich, bold and unusual one that begs for multiple types of nail art to showcase it to its best, from stripes and swirls, to blossoms and scales. So why settle for one design when you could have a little bit of everything? I really love this type of random/not random mani that’s limited only to what you think might look nice on each one of your nails, although I think I like it even more when there’s a little bit of polish cohesion to tie the whole beautiful package together.
I was going to comment with which nail design I liked the best…then I looked at the photo again and couldn’t decide on just one! Each pattern is so beautiful. The fish scales one keep drawing my eye, though — I’d love to be able to do that!
Thank you! The fish scale/mermaid scale one is only something I’ve just recently gotten okay with – usually it’s pretty dodgy! Hmm, maybe a tutorial?
I was just telling my daughter you should do nails for the stars on the red carpet! š
That’s SO sweet of you to say – what a lovely compliment! – but holy cats, what a calamity that would be! I’m so terrible at doing other people’s nails, and I’d spend all my time trying to convince, like, Katy Perry that she should let me paint broccolis on her nails (actually, she’d probably go for that!)
All of these designs look great! I love the colors you used to tie it all together too.

Thank you – that was the goal (I love it when a plan comes together…) š
Absolutely love these!
Thank you! I like them more than usual, too, because they’ve survived 24 whole hours (my manis are usually pretty short-lived.)
I dont blame you they’re stunning. Haha mine too! I either chip them or get bored and fancy a change haha
