Yeah, that’s a Disney thing. What isn’t these days? It’s a ride, actually, in Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion – the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Cabelleros, a classic dark boat ride featuring state of the art animatronics and a number of dicey cultural stereotypes. Also fiber optic fireworks on the ceiling. Very cool, although not as pretty as the fireworks in our headboards! Maybe I should have called them Headboard Nails. Although in retrospect, that might attract a very different kind of reader than the kind I’m typically used to…
Merriest of Independence Days to my American friends. 🙂 Now, go celebrate making it through the past five months by blowing up a small piece of your nation, colourfully. Sorry, colORfully. American grammar rules only today.
Bet that’s only the 20th time my American friends have seen or heard that phrase this Independence Day. Bless you, Katy Perry, patron saint of shooting stuff out yer boob cannons.
Happy 4th! If you’re celebrating this evening, I hope your fireworks blow up real good. 🙂
Never content to leave well enough alone, I thought the already-gorgeous polish on the left, Deborah Lippmann’s Let’s Go Crazy, needed a little something extra, but nothing too wild that might distract from all the pretty. Its little sparkles reminded me of the way fireworks twinkle out as they fall from the sky, so I started to go hot and heavy with a big fireworks design…and then stopped. Partly because I liked what I had and didn’t want to cover up too much of the base coat, but mostly because it was well past my bedtime and I couldn’t bear the thought of waiting for all that polish to dry. So here we are, caught somewhere between fireworks and…errant peacock tail feathers? Sure, let’s go with that!
