My good friend glitter was the name of the game (or the theme of the game) for day seven in the Oh Mon Dieu Nail Art Challenge. I decided to go with one of my favourite types of nail art, a simple glitter-and-gradient, but I dressed it up a bit with two shimmery holographic polishes and a super fun glittery topper. For the gradients, reversed on my middle and ring fingers, I used Enchanted Polish’s lavender holo, Time to Pretend, and their mint-hued mystery pick for March 2015. But in keeping with the glittery theme, the real star of the show here is Whimsical Idea by Pam’s Head Shrinker, a matte grey and silver holo-speckled topper studded with tiny little black skulls and crossbones. Cute and creepy!

Let’s Turn on the Juice and See What Shakes Loose
Beetlejuice the cartoon-inspired nail art. The difference, you ask, between the 1988 movie and the 1989 television show? A lack of Adam and Barbara, for one, a tighter focus on the Deetz family unit, for another, and absolutely zero mention of the fact that in the movie Beetlejuice coerces Lydia through threats of violence against her friends and family into being his unwilling underworld child bride. Instead Beetlejuice and Lyds are the bestest of undead buds, cutting all sorts of screamy, high energy capers from here to the Neitherworld and back again. And you know what? I actually prefer it that way. Because the alternative is some exceptionally disturbing ‘shipper fan art I ran across this afternoon whilst calling up images of the animated ghost with the most. File that one under “Things I Never Needed to See”!
As a little inside joke, I layered one coat of Whimsical Ideas by Pam’s Head Shrinker over the green and purple gradient on my index and middle fingers. Because if anyone can understand a bit of head shrinking, it’s Beetlejuice, right?! 😉
Dance of the Dead
Because here at Finger Candy HQ, no opportunity for goofy wordplay shall go unplayed! All the stupid jokes must be mangled, and the plentiful puns will flow like a lazy (writing) river. I command it so! And you have to listen to me, because this is my blog (or you could just leave, but I’d prefer if you didn’t; I like seeing you around.)
To that end, here we have a fun combination of two more polishes from Whimsical Ideas by Pam, Head Shrinker, a pale grey and micro holo glitter topper shot through with tiny black skulls, and Tutu Sweet, a bright pink glitter polish from Pam’s recently released Valentine’s collection. It’s a super cute look – very baby girl punk rock – and one I probably would have thought to try out, with or without the opportunity for some awesome punnage (but it’s so much better with!) Now if you’ll excuse me, there are some purple and neon green Head Shrinker Beetlejuice nails I need to tend to.
