These simple scalloped nails draw inspiration from the glitter polish I used here, KB Shimmer’s Full Bloom Ahead, in both colour and design – as in I kept the design on my index and ring fingers relatively uncluttered to let all that gorgeous, colourful glitter take centre stage.
I haven’t had this polish for very long, but it’s quickly becoming one of my favourites and a pick I reach for time and time again in my beauty tackle box (no really, I keep my nail art supplies in an actual fishing tackle box, and it handles the job beautifully.) And while I don’t shill for KB Shimmer in any capacity, official or otherwise, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out how truly lovely this polish is – fabulous consistency, zero application issues and a gorgeous, unique mix of glitter. Just great stuff.
Well, this turned into quite the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink manicure! Let’s see, we’ve got textured matte glitter (which turns into your garden variety glitter as soon as you put a top coat over it, so somewhat redundant?), fishnetting, holographic polish, glitter top coats…and two highly dubious renderings of “seashells.” Okay sure, we’ll call them seashells!
Fish scales or fishnets, the jury’s still out. I think these nails look like a little bit of both.
When she’s not languishing under the sea or crawling through what looks like the lower intestines of a T-Rex, Alice bombs around in the requisite blue dress with pinafore, black and white striped tights and blood splattered apron.
In which our heroine uncovers a deep, abiding and heretofore undiscovered love of synchronized swimming. Or perhaps it’s more literal and she’s actually drowning in her despair. Either way, her wardrobe is fly, and so are these nails!
